Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us, with the answer

No hedging. Where an answer depends on your situation, we say so — better that than a promise that does not hold up in the field.

General

What is IZIII?

A point-of-sale and payment platform for hospitality, retail, education, public bodies, sports clubs and appointment-based trades. It brings together the till, payment terminals, printing, kitchen screens, kiosks, connected fridges, bookings, multi-site and accounting reconciliation in a single whole — instead of four systems that do not talk to each other.

Is IZIII online software or installed on my premises?

The till interface is a web application running in a browser, on a touchscreen kiosk, a PC, a tablet or a smartphone. Hosting is defined project by project, based on your size, your obligations and your existing infrastructure.

Which languages is IZIII available in?

Six languages as standard: French, Dutch, English, German, Italian and Spanish. This applies to the till interfaces, customer displays, kiosks, the mobile app and the product catalogue, including during stock updates, with built-in translation assistance.

In a bilingual setting, staff can therefore work in their language while the customer orders in theirs.

Which countries is IZIII sold in?

Belgium, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain. The Belgian fiscal module is specific to Belgian hospitality; elsewhere the local framework is examined project by project.

Is IZIII suitable for a school or a university?

Yes. Prepaid accounts, badge or QR identification, rates differentiated by profile, meals booked in advance with IZIII Cantina, per-visit and daily limits on children's accounts, connected fridges for off-peak hours, allergens on product records and reports per institution. Because the licence is per site, opening extra till lines at the lunchtime peak costs nothing more.

Licence & pricing

How is the IZIII licence billed?

Per geographic site, not by number of tills. One site, one licence — whatever the number of tills, tablets, kiosks, kitchen screens or connected fridges running there.

Are all features really included?

Yes. All 48 features are available at no extra cost. No Pro edition, no option to unlock, no feature reserved for large accounts. The additional capabilities, whose licences are already owned, are not billed either.

Do I pay more if I add a till?

No. A second till at the counter, a terminal on the terrace in summer or two extra kiosks at peak time do not change the licence amount. Only the hardware appears in the quote.

Is there a commission on turnover?

No. No percentage of your sales, including on online orders, surprise bags or collections from a connected fridge.

Accounting reconciliation

How does IZIII simplify accounting reconciliation?

Every channel — till, kiosk, QR, online, connected fridge, delivery platforms — and every payment method converge into one dashboard, IZIII Reports. Rearrangeable chart sections, filters by period, point of sale, status or user profile, and reports that can go out automatically by e-mail.

Concretely: no more separate reconciliation per channel at the end of the month.

Can a consolidated report be produced across several sites?

Yes. Several sites on one network, with switching between sites, item synchronisation and differentiated ranges. Reports per site and consolidated across the network.

Are delivery platform takings kept separate?

Yes. Uber Eats orders arrive in the same production flow, and sales recorded in Deliveroo's or Takeaway's name stay separately identifiable in the reports.

Smart connected fridges

What is the IZIII smart connected fridge?

A bank of refrigerated lockers driven by the till. A paid order is assigned a locker the customer opens at any hour, with no staff. Cold chain respected, stock updated and collection in the same reports as a counter sale.

What is a connected fridge actually for?

Selling while you are closed. A bakery serves its morning orders before opening, a caterer works in click & collect, a school canteen covers off-peak hours, and the hospital network Vivalia lets its care staff collect a meal at any hour — including at night, without the kitchen being open.

Is the connected fridge billed separately?

The software feature is part of the site licence. Only the lockers themselves appear in the quote, like a printer or a terminal.

Digital signage — service billed outside the licence

Does IZIII handle digital signage on information screens?

Yes, through IZIII Display. This service drives information screens from the till: menu board, dish of the day, suggestions and promotions, announcements, and instruction screens at the workstation. Each screen gets its own composition and switches automatically from one time slot to the next — breakfast, lunch, evening. Display runs in the platform's six languages.

IZIII Display is an additional service, billed outside the IZIII licence. It is not one of the 48 features and is not covered by the "everything is included" rule. It is offered on quotation.

Do prices have to be re-entered on the display screens?

No. Labels, prices and availability are taken from the till catalogue: a single entry feeds the sales screen, the kiosk, mobile ordering and the signage at once. An item that runs out disappears from the screen with no intervention, and a price change shows up immediately. That is the fundamental difference from a generic digital signage tool, which knows nothing about actual stock.

What hardware does a digital signage screen need?

Any screen with a browser will do: connected TV, Android box, mini-PC. Orientation can be portrait or landscape, and the number of screens is not limited — each with its own composition. The screen network runs over the same infrastructure as the other till peripherals. See Hardware & integrations.

Booking, deposit & no-show

How does IZIII handle booking no-shows?

Every customer has a centrally maintained reliability history : bookings honoured, late cancellations and unannounced absences. When a request arrives, the manager sees whether the booking is risky — before even accepting it.

They can then ask for a deposit, offer a less sensitive slot or decline. And conversely: recognise a loyal customer who has never let you down.

Can a deposit be requested at booking?

Yes. Every slot, service or type of treatment can be configured with or without a deposit. The deposit is taken at booking time and then deducted from the final bill.

Is the reliability history GDPR-compatible?

Within a single venue it is an ordinary customer history. As soon as it is shared between venues it becomes a sensitive processing of personal data : the scope of sharing, the retention period, the information given to customers and the legal basis must be defined with your adviser.

We systematically raise this point when scoping the project, rather than glossing over it.

School canteen & anti-waste

What is IZIII Cantina?

Parents book their child's school meals in advance, in a single order for the week or the month, and pay at order time. The school no longer handles cash and has no unpaid balances to chase.

Because exact production volumes are known days ahead, the kitchen buys and cooks right — sharply reducing waste. Menus published in advance, allergens visible, choice per day.

Does IZIII offer an equivalent to the anti-waste apps?

Yes, with the same mechanism but on your own premises : unsold stock published as surprise bags at a reduced price, booked and paid online, collected at the counter or from a connected fridge. No commission for a third party, and the customer joins your own database.

How does IZIII handle deposit containers and recyclables?

The deposit is charged at the sale on reusable containers — cups, jars, boxes, crates. The return is recorded by scanning the container, with a refund or credit note, and dedicated reports track the return rate, lost containers and deposited amounts.

How do you cap a child's spending?

With two combinable caps : a per-visit limit, which bounds the amount of a single transaction, and a daily limit, which bounds the day's total.

When a cap is reached, the till declines the sale and shows an alert — no silent overdraft, no nasty surprise at the end of the stay.

How the till works

How does sending to the kitchen work?

By rounds. Each table carries an open order; when you send, the kitchen and the bar receive only what has just been entered. No duplicate docket, no dish prepared twice.

What happens when an item already sent to the kitchen is removed?

The removal is flagged rather than vanishing silently: production knows a dish already under way has been cancelled, and the operation stays visible in the order history.

Does IZIII support split payment?

Yes. An order can be settled with several methods and in several steps: card, cash, wallet, vouchers, gift card. The balance updates at each step.

Can a table be transferred to another?

Yes, during service: table transfer and merge are supported, keeping the rounds and the order's fiscal history.

Can a different VAT rate apply depending on the room?

Yes. The eat-in versus takeaway distinction can be configured per room, so the same product carries the right rate depending on where it is sold.

How does IZIII handle tips?

The tip is entered during payment and added to the order as a separate line at a zero VAT rate. It is only materialised after the fiscal closing of the order, so that it does not disturb the fiscal signature of the sale.

It then appears separately in the reports, which makes sharing it within the team easier.

How is staff consumption handled?

Through a staff discount tied to a named right : only authorised profiles can apply it. The discount can be configured per VAT class, which allows drinks and meals to be treated differently.

Staff consumption stays visible separately in the reports, rather than dissolving into turnover.

Can the till freeze during a payment?

If a terminal declines authorisation, if communication fails or if the timeout expires, the payment lock is always released, the error is displayed and the basket is realigned with the real state of the order. The till does not stay blocked and never sends a stale amount to the terminal.

Tax compliance

Is IZIII compliant with Belgian tax law for hospitality?

IZIII embeds a fiscal data module (FDM) that signs registered cash register operations with the black box: sale, pro forma, copy, refund and transfer, with the fiscal data and QR code on the receipt and printable fiscal reports.

Whether you must use a registered cash register depends on your activity and your meal turnover. Learn more →

What happens if the black box does not respond?

The operation is not silently validated. The error appears on the till and the order stays in an identifiable state, so the venue knows what has been signed and what has not. The procedure in case of failure is covered with your teams at go-live.

Can I use IZIII outside Belgium?

Yes. The Belgian fiscal module is specific to Belgian hospitality; the rest of the platform works anywhere. For Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain the local framework is examined project by project.

Hardware

What is Raven and what is it for?

Raven runs the network of your peripherals : printers, scales, black boxes and every device that would otherwise require ports opened on the router. No router configuration is needed, and changing operator or equipment no longer matters.

If the connection drops, the built-in SIM switches everything to 4G within seconds. If the internet goes down, Raven is there. See how it works →

Do I need to configure my router for the printers and the black box?

No. Raven takes care of it: no port forwarding, no fixed addresses to maintain, no reconfiguration after a router change or an outage.

Which payment terminals are compatible?

Four families: CCV, Worldline / WiPay (Bancontact, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, V Pay, Payconiq QR, Sodexo Card, Edenred), VivaWallet and MultiSafePay. The amount always leaves the till for the terminal, with no re-keying.

Does IZIII drive an automatic cash machine?

Yes: Glory (CI-5 over WebSocket, CI-10 over SOAP) and CashDro (note and coin acceptors and recyclers, via REST API). Till discrepancies and manual change disappear.

Do you need proprietary till hardware?

No. The interface runs in a browser, on a touchscreen kiosk, a PC, a tablet or a smartphone. Peripherals are connected through their respective protocols.

Can you sell by weight with a scale?

Yes. The connected scale is read directly, with tare management per container type — useful for bakeries, grocers, loose goods and fresh produce.

Running the business

Can several points of sale be managed?

Yes. Several points of sale or sites on one installation, fast switching between the sites of a network, item synchronisation and product visibility per point of sale.

Is stock shared between the shop and remote sales?

Yes. Whatever leaves the shelf, a connected fridge or an online order draws down the same stock and appears in the same report.

How are employee rights managed?

Through named rights assigned to user profiles. Every sensitive screen and action — refund, discount, staff discount, fiscal reports, administration — depends on a specific right, not a vague generic role.

How do delivery platform orders arrive?

Uber Eats orders arrive in the same production flow as those from the dining room, with their origin shown on the kitchen screen. Sales recorded in Deliveroo's or Takeaway's name stay separately identifiable in the reports.

How long does go-live take?

It depends on the size of the catalogue, the hardware to connect and the number of sites. A simple venue with an existing catalogue goes fast; a network with several sites, cash machines and connected fridges needs proper scoping. We give a realistic schedule after the analysis — not a boilerplate promise.

What happens if the internet goes down?

The built-in Raven SIM switches the system to 4G within seconds: the till takes payments, the kitchen prints and the black box signs — with no action from your teams.

Data & security

Where is the data hosted?

Hosting is defined project by project, based on your size and your obligations. For institutions and public bodies this is formalised during scoping; we document the chosen arrangement in writing.

How is access to the screens protected?

Every front-end screen depends on a named access right, assigned per user profile. Anyone without the right to a screen does not see it — and cannot perform the matching action either.

Does my data stay accessible if I change solution?

Yes. Catalogue, customers, stock and reports export to Excel, and orders are reachable via API. Your data stays yours.

My requirement is specific. Can IZIII adapt?

Often, yes: the platform is built from features combined to fit, and several existing features came about exactly that way — from a concrete request from the field. Put your case to us: we will tell you honestly whether it is a configuration, a development or a bad idea.

Your question isn't here?

Ask us directly. We answer with what the system actually does — not with what sounds good.
